late winter

Pretty UR Caffe
Winter, I feel we need to say good bye. With many days of grey skies, a heavy head cold and the last few days of rain and storms, I am beginning to wonder when winter will wrap itself and when spring will truly begin. Walking today I saw confused signs of the new season - wind scattered blossoms, wet, bursting seed pods and this beautiful crimson gum leaf. With the end of winter come another change - my daughters 13th birthday on Monday. A little more on that next week.

Winter is almost done. The last few mornings have been noticeably brighter. Love that shot of the caterpillar. Haven't seen one of those for a while. And to think I used to keep them in my pockets when I was a kid... (how icky!).

Your photos brighten up even the darkest day. Even now when I'm stuck at work. All the best to you and the family. Especially today when it's for someone very special.

Happy birthday to your eldest!! I love the last days of winter with the lengthening daylight and sneaky blossoms breaking free and the cutest leaves unrolling! We have a lovely baby dove in our yard at the moment hanging out with its mum and dad, soo cute. Spring is near!

Love the little caterpiller. I saw several yesterday while I was weeding plus also a beautiful little praying mantis. He was the same colour as the hay and quickly chuffed off. Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girl!
