something old, something new

something borrowed, something blue We have been butterflies over the last couple of weeks, fluttering from one activity or place to the next. Today was a little slower and the right moments were found and taken to snap these pictures. The book has been read and will be travelling back to you soon B x.

Thrifted Tuesday x 2

Thrift karma has been flowing my way. The gorgeous dress was thrifted by a friend while on holiday - Thank you C!! and the two vases were found at separate Vinnie's stores one week apart. The first is made in Japan and was 50c and the second is a West German piece. These won't appear on Flickr until July as I have maxed my monthly uploads allowance. One of these days I will upgrade.

Sweet

This morning I left work (an hour after arriving) feeling warm and woozy. Although feeling terrible from head to toe I stopped by the markets on the way home. The sweets counter at the store that sells a great sour dough loaf caught my attention. Before I knew it three brown paper bags were in my hand and I was on my way. The girls have lucked in, I don't feel like eating a thing.

Close and cozy

It is wonderful and warming to see how tender they can be with their beloved pets.

fresh

It is raining while I write this - love it! Today was mostly damp and chilly. Instead of cozying up indoors we were in and out of the garden. My older one has been busy up the back veggie patch, turning it into a multi-themed garden of her own. At the moment there is a little spinach, some oregano and mint, hopefully soon some carrots and zucchini will be sprouting.

yellow and blue

Busy, busy is how things have been. The usual weekly routines + collective sniffles and warm cheeks, a small sprained hand, and a very important 5th birthday to plan for - now only four more sleeps away! While putting together this collection of pics I was humming the Donovan song that goes something like "....golden in the colour of my true loves hair...." and "blue is the colour of the sky in the morning" Thinking about it now I am not quite sure what came first, the idea for the colour theme or the song in my head, but it is late and is time for bed. Thanks Donovan, they are nice images to go off to sleep to.
